Iron Gate Jiu-Jitsu's mats in Mid-City Santa Monica are where kids learn to fall safely, escape a pin, and problem-solve under pressure — all while having a blast. Coaches emphasize control over aggression, so grappling stays fun and safe for every size and skill level. Plenty of parents say it's the class that finally tires their kid out.

Professor Silva does a good job keeping everyone engaged. Parking on the street can be tight right at pickup, but we've never circled more than a couple minutes. My kid talked about it the whole car ride home most weeks, which says a lot.
Solid class, kid loves going every week. My kid is slowly rolling with way more confidence, and the little lot fills up fast so we just park around the corner. Only reason it's not five stars is the class can feel a little crowded some weeks.
Can't say enough good things about Coach Devon. the small group size means my kid actually gets individual attention. They're rolling with way more confidence now and so proud of it.
Can't say enough good things about Coach Devon. after class my kid wouldn't stop talking about it at dinner. Genuinely one of the best activities we've tried on the Westside.
Coach Devon is great, and overall we're really happy here. A couple sessions felt rushed, but overall my kid is escaping from underneath without panicking and having fun.
Professor Silva is fantastic with the kids — my kid told grandma all about it on FaceTime that night after the very first class. Parking on the street can be tight right at pickup, but we've never circled more than a couple minutes.
Coach Devon does a good job keeping everyone engaged. Street parking nearby is easy on weekday afternoons. My kid told grandma all about it on FaceTime that night most weeks, which says a lot.
